At times a silence walks into our room
To set itself between us on the couch
While silver light is shining where you sit;
I love it when the days go slower by
And nothing happens till it leaves again.
Because you made the silence stay some more,
What was before, like any war, it went
Away and all that we experience is peace.
The silence visiting our house, this guest
Is us, at our best. It’s me and you forever.
It’s smoking a cigar, and we don’t mind,
The fumes are of a lighter kind, they fill
The room until we talk again and gone’s
The guest, but us, we’re back on speaking terms.
Still, days go slower by in spite of us.
2014 is almost over. For me, it has been a year of happiness, the birth of my second granddaughter for instance, but also of sadness. A year that is life. May next year bring everyone happiness more so than sadness.
Happy New Year
