Inventing

Every day I try to invent myself
In colour and mood, in the tone of my voice.
Blending with the walls that is our home,
Resonating with your life (which was easy
When we were the same person, or almost)
And now I feel I don’t fit here anymore
Where all is darkened, and a blanket of silenced voices
Is covering life, and my careless chatter
Inappropriate behaviour,
My red hair an insult, my being – a mockery to yours.
I am this way though.
I can change but not into a Goddess,
Not as to your image,
I can only try inventing myself
Into someone new.

  1. Reblogged this on Beechdey’s Weblog.

  2. Another extremely moving and beautifully written poem Ina. We son’t speak too often but you are constantly in my thoughts and I look at your beautiful christmas card every day. Love and hugs (((Ina))) ❤️ Xxx

  3. An incredible depth, and beauty. I have the feeling you don’t have to change. People probably love you the way you are.

  4. This is such a beautiful poem, {{{Ina}}}. Again, your honesty leaves me in awe, while your truth is what so many feel when something separates them from a loved one … even as we are connected each has his/her own path. Just saw this quote on FB:

“Our journey is about being more deeply involved in Life and yet less attached to it.” Ram Dass (American spiritual teacher)

    Love ya! XO❤
