The jar

looking at this jar
from every possible angle
wanting the inside out
and holding it upside down

without comprehending
how the lid is locked
how to open it:
that’s me and life

After the image of a jar I saw on facebook 🙂

  1. A beauty. The jar as metaphor, I hear you Ina… jarringly familiar to me… I would smash it on a beach rock. The pieces, in time, would be worn smooth and collectable by the ocean’s caress. The contents, if any, I would accept into my collection of treasured detritus…

  2. A jar you cannot open…a good metaphor for life…..and now I have a silly language riddle for you: When is a door not a door? ( answer: when it’s ajar…..) 🙂

  3. Reminds me of a Wallace Stevens poem…thanks.
