affirmationDefenseless under the night

Our world in a stupor lies;

  2. I think the first time I heard Barber’s Adagio was when I was a girl of about 14 at the London Planetarium…

    • It is beautiful, I cried listening, had never heard it before. πŸ™‚

      • By the way, that is his ‘Agnus Dei’ of course, rather than the ‘Adagio for strings’. Barber used the same piece of music three times, firstly as the slow movement of a string quartet, then as a piece for string orchestra, then as a choral piece.
