Dance of the dragon-fly

In closed waters where fish won’t swim,
in those dark pools of bitter memories
there seems no sand beneath the surface.
We were sad here, remember.

We cried because the world was bad
and we were too young
to live beyond pain.

See now how a dragon-fly sets off
for a moment of her own,
she dances in the mirror.
The sky is breaking blue.

Now we have returned to the banks,
not to remember how we felt
but to celebrate our intimacy.

The sun displays her shining pearls
and gives a beam of brightness
back to the silent wood. I know
it is because of you the dragon-fly shows off.
