Questions

What do the colourless neutrons think,
and busy atoms do with themselves
in their leisure time,
what goes on unseen
while we see broad horizons?

I eat from this Earth.
I am becoming more and more
this Earth, my bones will
make a part of it one day.
Do molecules feel the same?

One person can make another laugh
just by saying something funny.

All is too much to grasp
while the road is filled with petals,
the rain flogging our window,
we fall in love and out of it,
the moon and sunset change our mood;

we call it nature
but the ions living immortal in between
the world we can see
and the world we can’t,
what do they call us
when they socialize?

β€œA funny bread. Too bad
they think they know it all.”

  1. I love this poem of searching – and then the last two lines! Gave me a big smile 😊 L&H xx

  2. This is mystical, Ina. I don’t always associate you with mysticism, but the unknown, unknowable thoughts of neutrons and atoms as they dance around creating the world qualifies. The key to the poem, to me, are the lines,
All is too much to grasp
while the road is filled with petals,
    the rain flogging our window,
we fall in love and out of it,
    the moon and sunset change our mood;
    There is solid truth here.
As well as a bit of speculative fun:
but the ions living immortal in between
    the world we can see
    and the world we can’t,
    what do they call us
    when they socialize?
We are bread to atoms? I don’t know.
