Damaged daisy chains

I started myself over
and made a daisy chain,
connecting every beauty
that came into my life,
with, in between white petals,
the green there to remind me
I’m a part of Earth and started
to be so at my birth.
The chain then broke quite easily,
the petals died too soon,
my labour was in vain,
again I felt mortality
nibbling at my skin.
But daisies grow forever
and show up when it’s time.
I started myself over
and made a daisy chain.

    • Thank you John. They are growing in abundancy here, I want to make a chain for my graddaughter but I am rather clumsy, and it would be a shame to destroy the flowers for nothing, so I haven’t done it yet.
