Go not

Go not without a memory of slumber,
remember the turquoise and the gold,
the brightness of the room in Summer.
Go not without, before you go away.

If I have failed and nothing makes you stay:
go not without hearing the growling sea
before you go, the waves that rolled forever.
Go not, go not without a memory of me.

Oh my goodness, Ina–this is another fabulous one–must make sure Betty sees it!

  2. Apart from anything else I love the way it suggests its form rather than make it an overwhelming presence.

  3. This is lovely, Ina – has something of Dylan Thomas’ ‘Do not go gently into that good night’ about it, but it’s gentler, more reflective, and very beautiful. N..

  4. Damn! Nick has already said it! Dylan Thomas. Love it.
