Doing nothing

All I want to do is be here
while I wait for the shadows
doing nothing but love you
your voice and your mind,
intertwined with my mind, in my voice,
with my hands and my eyes
in your eyes and your hands,
from a distance,
miles above life,
while I wait for the shadows
that grow from behind the cherry tree
to follow my thoughts,
live them, let blood run through my veins
while I wait for the shadows
that grow from behind the cherry tree,
slowly covering all of those thoughts
in forgetful darkness.

Nicely written… You have a very beautiful unique style and rhythm… ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. The ones that grow in moonlight or sunlight?

  3. Every time I read one of your poems, there is always a line which stops me in my tracks. “Miles above life”. I could dream about that concept all day

  4. Hauntingly expectant … waiting for the inevitable, like day waiting for night.

‘let blood run through my veins
while I wait for the shadows
that grow from behind the cherry tree,
slowly covering all of those thoughts
    in forgetful darkness.’

    Wonderful! XO

  5. This has a touch of Pasternak in it, Ina. I find it highly creative as well as evocative.
