Best to ignore

Like dealing with an illness, it is best
to ignore my feelings, give it rest,
for more, I know, will never be our truth,
it is a memory from then, our youth
when we were lovers, strangers on our quest
starting with our lives, fleeing from the nest.
For more, I know, will never be our truth,
it is a memory from then, our youth.

  1. Ina, wonderful poem! (Hard to believe that English isn’t your first language – you handle rhyme and meter so expertly.) I can relate to this poem – the illness, the giving rest to our feelings – (and those memories of our youth…) It all ties in together.
(Sorry I’ve been scarce on WP and have missed so many of your recent poems!)

    • Hi Betty, thank you very much!
I am pleased to see your comments again and I enjoyed your last poem too! 🙂
