Departure

After your departure, it was different in the house
where daylight seemed to stay a certain grey.
The heater broke, the doors that wouldn‘t stay ajar
fell loudly in the lock each time a bit of air came by
and all your letters flew out of the window towards clouds.
The day of your departure, you were gone, away, too far.
