Choose new words every day, lift
thoughts out of their tight crisp packings,
hold them to the light
and watch them lose their weight;
so much to view from other angles,
seen in different mirrors now
the cobwebs are removed.
Open the box. Receive the gift.

just a thought, really

  1. That poem was a good one. Poem is a gift where the poet takes everyday words take them out of their prosaic settings and dust them of the cliches, and add a little pixie magic. Lo and behold it sings being reborn!

    Terrific advice, Ina! 🙂

  3. That’s a very good thought 🙂

    • Hi David,

      I wrote and published this this morning, not knowing I would indeed unpack a gift today! 🙂
      Thank you very much, that is so very kind of you! It only took 3 days to arrive; my answering mail posted today will not be so quick due to the weekend.

  4. Lovely thought! Most enjoyed 🙂

  5. I see the thought-otter has been darting in and out of its holt.

  6. Words, spinning through the prism of our thoughts and emotions, thinning and thickening and dancing in the process, lead to creation and the meaning and substance of creation. This is a good poem, Ina. Thoughtful.

    • Hi Thomas, thank you very much! Whomever it was first splitting thoughts up into words, has made it so much easier to think. I think. 🙂
