Renewing vows

Renewed is life now it is Spring,
what was in earth, in womb, in tree
unseen and small, is peeping out,
is given birth, is blossoming.

I see the flowers almost here,
my fingers pick the first of them,
I smell the new born lamb, the blood
that lingers on its mother’s rear.

Now sunshine warms up the cold ground
the land is waiting for new life
and sounds of birds are everywhere
as they are mating all day round.

Be here with me in this new way
we start again where we went wrong
be close to me now, make us one;
apart we wouldn’t bloom a day.

I made the photo this morning on a friend’s farm

  1. Must be nice to drop in on a friend with so much life flourishing around them. Thanks for the snapshot of your morning in verse and photos.

  2. A lovely romantic poem.

Clearly spring is in the air πŸ™‚

    • Thank you very much. yes it is, but today is misty.

      • ps: I tried a sort of rhyme abca and a repeat of rhyme from the 2nd line to the 4th, for some reason I liked that, but I have no idea if it is an official sort of rhyme lol. πŸ™‚

  3. You knew I’d love this, didn’t you? Spring, lambs, countryside, rhyming verse – you’ve made me very happy indeed!! And the rhyme scheme is perfect; simple but effective, it gives the piece the feel of a folk song, which is just right for the subject. I make up rhyme schemes all the time…and the photo takes me right back to my student days on the farm, too. Wonderful, as always. N.xx

    • Hi Nick,

I did think you would lol

      • The rhyming thing, sometimes I like it, and some poems, if they rhyme by accident, I alter it because it doesn’t seem right. It is weird how that works.

  4. I love this Ina!!

Such a beautiful poem to go with the picture you took!

The poem smells of spring and all the hope it can bring – I just love it!

    Love and hugs

    Christine xx

      Love and hugs

  5. Yes, lovely! I can walk into spring… πŸ™‚

  6. Some lovely phrases here…’I see the flowers almost here’ and ‘we start again where we went wrong’

A beautiful tribute to spring and the overall renewal of life and love!
