Let me dance bare feet
on the beach when I age.
When my hair is grey
let me be that way
as the sea remembers.
Wave by wave I’ll swim
from the shore when I age.
When my arms are thin
let me swim away
as I shall remember.

lovely. How you remember when you age and how the sea shall remember are evocative and well brought out.
Hi Benny
thank you very much for your kind comment. 🙂
you are welcome.
Lovely again Ina – reminds me that the sea gives as well as takes.
Hi David, thank you very much.
I don’t know how the sea slipped in here. I am going to try and minimize the sea in my poems lol!
Beautiful … that’s what I want as well. 🙂
Hi Lafemmeroar 🙂 thank you. It seems the best way to go, doesn’t it…
I love this one too – your poetry just gets better and better!! (And I can relate to this one. 🙂 )
Hi Betty,
thank you very much 🙂
Such an expression of freedom! For allowing ourselves to grow older…in body, mind and spirit…is the liberation. (And a gift to treasure, especially if we can ‘dance bare feet
on the beach’…if one thinks of those who never get the chance to grow old, or are too sick or disabled to make the most of it.)
