Anti climax at eleven

Evening calm is around us
A bird sings a song
So quiet we both are
Listen, a free concert

A bird sings a song
that no one ever heard
but is familiar to all
as it is about life

So quiet we both are
and no reason to talk
I cherish this silence
between us, and the bird

Listen, a free concert
that comes every evening
til the neighbour’s cat
makes a move into the tree

  1. Lovely Ina, i like the ” a free concert ” line.

  2. Bloody cats!!!!

  3. This is a lovely musically, birdsongy poem!

It follows David’s poem – except for the cat!! My two can’t be bothered with birds anymore – too old

I, too, love the line “a free concert”!

    Love and hugs

    Christine xx

    • πŸ™‚ Thank you! I do love cats, it is such a pity they hunt for birds! I didn’t think of that poem, but you are right!

      Love and hugs! xx

  4. What a free moment of bliss. (And obviously the cat thought so too! Why mine stay indoors and just enjoy kitty TV!)
