We walked before here, hand in hand then,
see how much the sea has taken since.
The beach was wider, remember when
we swam here in a ritual rinse.
You throw a memory at me in smile,
my senses seem to waken from a sleep
that has been keeping me a timeless while
from living in the highest and the deep.
Seagulls witness how we slowly start
to walk faster than we did for long.
Though running in the cold waves is not smart,
we are both back, right where we belong.
