Still in love

So eagerly I want memory to reproduce

the time Β when love was me and you,

when easily I could seduce

you in rhyming whispers that I sent.

So desperately now I need you

to be once again my loving friend

and forgive if my intention

of reproduction turned you off,

this is merely just to mention

that I am still so much in love

  1. Ouch! Hurts where it should.Although, its only natural for a sensitive soul like a poet to be still in love, its worth considering if that person truly deserves that sort of passionate, all consuming love.Beautifully put by the way.Loved it!

    • Well, it is more or less a reconstruction of emotions from a long time ago πŸ™‚ not my personal present reality so much.
Thank you for your comment! πŸ™‚

    Beautiful poem,

Although with a hint of bitter/sweet.

You do these poems so well

    • Hi David, thank you very much ! I loved writing this one, extending my vocabulary a bit πŸ™‚

  3. I missed reading you, Ina. Thinking about my own poem: it shouldn’t be like that, but if it hurts than you are still in love. And I am so glad for you!

    • Being able to love is the greatest gift we get in life I suppose. Even if it hurts! Thanks Seabell!

      • Someone explained to me that I should write “reading your work”, yet I keep forgetting… You know what I mean: I am happy to read your poems again.

  4. does that love ever go away…if u lost them by death…

A beautiful construct of rue – sometimes there are no second chances, are there?

    • Thank you πŸ™‚

Second chances are rare in love. The ones that got away will never know what they missed out on? πŸ™‚

  6. Oh, feathers! That was painful. A very good write. Thank you!

  7. I’m reminded of the saying, “If it doesn’t kill you, it makes you stronger.” If we live through the pain of lost love, shall we allow it to lessen loves of the present, or future. I hope not.
    Love the poem!

    • Hi Charles, thank you. Maybe it would make sense to become bitter and cynical over lost love, but the miracle of it is we can start all over! πŸ™‚ And stronger indeed!

  8. All I can say is I’m saddened by the piece.

  9. A sad and somewhat bitter sentiment. Love lost is better than no love at all, I suppose.
    Nicely written.

  10. sweet..

being in love and being love at the same time is divine.

    well done,
