Now everyone has aged

~{}~

Now funerals become a daily matter

Because the ones we love are getting few

It might be time to write a special letter

I wrote one to my son explaining better

that life was just a trip to nothing new

Now funerals become a daily matter

The sadness of not being more together

Can be dealt with when the dead is you

It might be time to write a special letter

But when the table’s turned it is a different matter

There is a funeral I don’t think I can do

Now funerals become a daily matter

I should have told you  more so to take better

care of yourself and of your loved ones too

It might be time to write a special letter

It is the gravestone with the fading letter

The tears I wept there looked like granite dew

It might be time to write a special letter

Now funerals become a daily matter

Man in a room

~{}~

it is a day for being in looking out
he said
and I imagined him standing
in front of a window covered with raindrops
looking out

or was he looking in
to a world too grim
from the outside, his  comfort zone?

🙂

“it is a day for being in looking out” is a quote, David Agnew said this and generously allows me to use it 🙂
