The perfect mother

So far everything is going well

The baby’s fed, the house is nice and clean

And no one knows about nor finds  the bottles

Behind the laundry in the  washing machine

As nobody will try to look for them, and bother

All is well and all is spotless clean

It is ten am and she is still unseen

She takes a second cup of gin

Let her day, her time begin

She is the perfect mother

You display an understanding which so many people do not have.

I know a number of people who could identify exactly with this.

  2. You have such a great way of commenting 🙂 Thank you.
I too know some of those people, that is why I could easily write this poem.

  3. lovely ina.. thanks for coming by my friend.. was a bit busy!

  4. Nice piece Ina.

  5. This started out so nice but boy, what a bomb at the end when I got what was going on. Sad.

  6. It’s scary how life changes when you become a wife, a mom and the pressing need to be good at it, to ‘perfect’ leads to such sombre results.

its was a touching rendering of the situation.

  7. So sad and scary … You’ve illustrated the dilemma that young motherhood can be for some new moms well.

    • Being a housewife/mother may not be fullfilling for some, but others are quite happy I suppose 🙂 I know from close by how women can deceive their surroundings and keep their addiction a secret.
